History

Chateau Montravel is a small property located in the town of Montcarret, recently acquired by a passionate about wine, wishing to produce a high-quality wine.
This small estate aims to produce wines with a strong identity, highlighting the terroir, heeding environmental constraints, and honoring winemaking traditions.

Vineyard

The vineyard is planted on a fossil-flecked limestone plateau characteristic of the great terroir of South West France. Because we believe that the vineyard is the paramount contributor to a wine’s character, we are vigilant about our cultivation practices.

Vinification & aging

Harvest dates are selected as a function of the maturity of each of the parcels. We vinify a large part of our wines in very small vats which allow us to adapt our fermentations.
The wines are then aged in barrels for a minimum of 15 months before being bottled.

Tasting notes

Intense ruby colour, dense and complex nose of ripe red fruits combined with slightly woody notes. Ample and round attack, unctuous mid-palate with melted tannins, long and balanced finish.

History

Chateau Montravel is a small property located in the town of Montcaret, recently acquired by a passionate about wine, wishing to produce a high-quality wine.

Our white wines are directly fermented in French oak barrels after pressing, and maintained on fine lees throughout the ageing.

Tasting notes

Yellow colour, brioche and buttery nose evolving towards notes of honey. Round and fresh attack, balanced midpalate, greedy, long and full finish.
